About Edward Charles
Edward Charles guest house was developed in 1997 by the house owners who decided to rebuild the house and change it into a guesthouse.
Whilst busy with excavations the builders came upon a little tin box with the following contents: A piece of bread, 2 coins, a tiny Bible, a button and the contract between owner and builder of the house. The contract was dated in 1933, 24 November, to be exact.
The owner of the house was MR EDWARD CHARLES DE SWART..and that is how we became THE EDWARD CHARLES GUEST HOUSE.
Today we stand honouring the past of the Edward Charles Guest House. Late in 2016 management was taken over by the Oosthuizen family. We take pride in our guesthouse, where it came from to where it is today and to where it will be in the future. We are upgrading the guesthouse and adapting the style to a more modern style, still keeping the history and originality intact.
We are currently still undergoing reservations. It will be a long process to come to where we would like to be. The decorative pieces in the guesthouse are not things that we just buy. All of the ornaments through to the chair pillows are carefully selected. We are proud of the things we put into the guesthouse.
